Throttlegirl & the Northern Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NNCCF) Take on The Hoka Hey Challenge

Throttlegirl is pleased to announce a community partnership with the Northern Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NNCCF). It is the distinguished privilege to partner with the NNCCF, a foundation that provides hope, inspiration and the means to help assist families face the adversity of childhood cancer. We will support the NNCCF by spreading its positive message while raising money through media outreach, Throttlegirl WebTV, social media, merchandising and participating in one of the most grueling, mentally and physically demanding motorcycle endurance races—the Hoka Hey Challenge.

The Hoka Hey Challenge is known as the “hardest motorcycle endurance race known to man,” or as we would like to say, known to woman as well. This August Throttlegirl will race in the Hoka Hey for the NNCCF. TG will have 18 days to finish the 6,000-mile race. With a cash purse at stake for the finishers, it is TG’s goal to place and donate the winnings to the NNCCF. The Hoka Hey represents the same principles and parallels the Throttlegirl message, which is standing tall, looking within and facing fear, carrying a message of hope, inspiration and motivation while rallying all to rise as one. Throttlegirl rides for a difference. As for the Hoka Hey Challenge: Each rider who enters the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge is prepared for combat. They are physically and strategically prepared to battle the elements and the unknown. The warrior riders who participate will discover that often the greatest battle takes place within us. The riders have to learn their own strengths and weaknesses, face fear and determine if they have the courage and determination to push forward. Many search deep within themselves and find the strength to persevere when they think they have nothing left to give. Like true warriors, they triumph in the face of adversity. While this is true for the participants of the Hoka Hey, it is the same strength that must be called upon in all of us who have, do and will face adversity in life. Kelly Quinn, aka Throttlegirl, will honor the warrior in herself as well as honor the warriors in life that need to call on their warrior spirits. Raising money for the NNCCF brave warriors do just that.
